Supply and Installation of Custom Blackout Curtains at South Ridge 5, Downtown Dubai

We received an order of supply and installation of custom blackout curtains  at South Ridge 5, Downtown Dubai. The client wanted a practical window treatment in the living room and bedroom that could improve privacy and control incoming daylight while matching the existing interior. We discussed the curtain style, fabric, color, and preferred finish before moving ahead with the work. Based on the room’s neutral interior, we selected a light grey blackout fabric with a soft gathered finish. The curtains were designed as full-length panels to cover the window and create a clean, finished look.

We visited the apartment to inspect the window and take accurate measurements before preparing the blackout curtains. During the visit, we checked the window width, height, ceiling area, and available space for the curtain track. We also discussed the required curtain coverage and gathered finish with the client. These measurements allowed us to prepare the curtains according to the actual window dimensions and achieve an even floor-length fall after installation.

For this project, we used a light grey blackout curtain fabric with a smooth, lightly lustrous appearance. The neutral shade complemented the white walls, wooden flooring, and existing furniture without overpowering the room.

The curtains feature a gathered pencil-pleat heading, creating regular vertical folds across the fabric. We used two full-length panels that meet at the center of the window. The generous fullness gives the curtains a softer fall and a more finished appearance when closed.

We also selected a concealed top-mounted track so the hardware would remain hidden behind the curtain heading. This kept the overall installation simple and clean.

After completing the site measurements, we prepared the curtains according to the required dimensions. We made sure the panels provided sufficient coverage across the window and allowed the gathered heading to form consistent folds.

The fabric was selected to suit the room’s existing color palette, while the blackout construction was chosen to provide the required privacy and daylight control. Before installation, we checked the curtain panels and track dimensions to ensure everything was ready for fitting at the apartment.

Our installation team fitted the concealed track at the required position and then hung both curtain panels. Once the curtains were in place, we adjusted the gathers to create even vertical folds across the window.

We also checked the center meeting point, curtain coverage, and floor-length drop. The final adjustments helped the fabric fall naturally and allowed the curtains to open and close smoothly.

The completed installation gave the apartment a warmer and more coordinated window treatment. The light grey blackout curtains blended naturally with the existing interior, while the full-length design provided complete coverage of the window area.

The gathered pencil-pleat heading added soft vertical folds, and the concealed track kept the installation visually clean. The final result was a custom-made curtain solution that combined practical light control and privacy with a simple, elegant appearance.
