Here’s a closer look at a recent Apartment Painting & Custom Carpet Installation at Al Ghadeer, Dubai that our team completed. The client first contacted us on 6 September 2026. His apartment walls were looking tired, and the bare tiled floors made the living area feel cold. He didn’t need a full renovation, just two jobs done well: fresh beige paint throughout and a custom carpet. Both sound simple, but the real difference lies in the small details, and we’ll walk you through them here.

Project Overview
Understanding What He Wanted
Before quoting anything, we visited the apartment for a site survey. “Beige” can mean many things. Some people picture soft sand, while others imagine something closer to oatmeal or greige. So we brought physical color cards and held them against the walls at different times of the day.
This step mattered. Al Ghadeer gets strong afternoon sun, and a beige that looks calm in the morning can turn yellowish by evening. In the end, he chose a warm, light beige with a slight grey undertone that stayed neutral all day.
For the floor, he knew exactly what he wanted: a brown custom carpet with medium pile and bound edges. We measured every room ourselves instead of relying on the floor plan, because real measurements rarely match the drawings.
Preparing the Walls
Most of a paint job’s quality is decided before the first coat goes on. During our inspection, we found a few issues that needed attention:
- Hairline cracks near window corners and above door frames. These are common in UAE buildings because of heat expansion. We opened them up and filled them with flexible acrylic filler so they won’t return after the summer.
- Nail and screw holes from old frames and a removed TV bracket. We filled these and sanded them smooth.
- Scuffs and grease marks around the kitchen and light switches. We cleaned these with sugar soap, since paint peels quickly over greasy surfaces.
After the repairs, we sanded the walls with 180-grit paper and wiped them clean. We then moved the furniture to the center of each room, covered it, protected the floors, and taped off skirting boards, sockets, and window frames.
Painting Process and Technical Details
For clients who like to know exactly what goes on their walls, here’s what we used:
- Primer: one coat of water-based acrylic sealer on patched areas and uneven walls. This helps the final color dry evenly without patchy spots.
- Topcoats: two full coats of premium water-based acrylic emulsion in the chosen beige.
- Finish: matt on the ceilings and washable low-sheen on the walls. Low-sheen hides small flaws and wipes clean easily, which is ideal for a family home.
- Application: brushwork along edges and corners, then a medium-nap roller (around 12 mm) for an even texture on the main walls.
- Drying time: at least 4 hours between coats, and longer on humid days. We kept the AC at a steady temperature to help the paint dry properly.
- Low-VOC paint: so the family could use the rooms again quickly without a strong smell.
We painted one room at a time so the client could keep using the rest of the apartment. Once we finished each room, we checked the walls with a work light held at a low angle. This reveals roller marks and missed spots that normal lighting hides.
The Custom Carpet
With the painting finished and the dust cleared, we moved on to the floor. Since this was a custom order, we cut the carpet to the exact measurements from our survey.
Here are the details:
- Color: a rich mid-brown that pairs nicely with the new beige walls without making the room feel dark.
- Pile height: medium pile, roughly 10 to 15 mm. It feels soft underfoot, handles daily foot traffic well, and vacuums easily.
- Bound edges: we finished every edge with stitched brown binding tape. This prevents fraying, gives a neat look, and keeps the edges flat so no one trips.
Before laying the carpet, we cleaned the tiled floor and laid an anti-slip underlay. The underlay stops the carpet from moving, adds extra comfort, and reduces noise for the neighbors below. We then smoothed the carpet out from the center to remove any ripples and checked that it lined up neatly with the walls and doorways.
Quality Checks & Handover
Once everything was in place, we walked through each room with the client to check the walls and the carpet together. We removed all the tape, put the custom furniture back, and cleaned up the space.
We also left him some spare paint labeled with the exact color code for future touch-ups, along with a few simple carpet care tips:
- Vacuum regularly.
- Blot spills instead of rubbing them.
- Move heavy furniture slightly from time to time to avoid dents in the pile.
The apartment now feels calmer and much more welcoming. The beige walls brighten every room, while the brown carpet adds warmth and completes the space.
