Blackout Curtain Supply & Installation at Pearl Palace, Al-Buteen, Dubai

Floor Land completed the project of blackout curtain supply & installation at Pearl Palace, Al Buteen, Dubai. The client wanted maximum light control while keeping the room visually calm and refined. We selected a soft grey blackout fabric and paired it with an S-fold curtain heading for a neat, continuous wave effect. We installed the curtain on a top-mounted ceiling track, concealed inside the bedroom’s existing built-in wooden pelmet. 

The project started when the client contacted our team looking for a blackout curtain for the bedroom. During the initial conversation, the client explained that the main requirement was effective light blocking without making the bedroom feel heavy or overly decorated. They also preferred a grey curtain because it would work naturally with the existing bedroom interiors.

Our team visited the bedroom before production to assess the window and the existing built-in wooden pelmet. We first checked the overall window dimensions and measured the available width and height to determine the exact curtain size required. We also inspected the inside of the pelmet to make sure there was sufficient space to accommodate the concealed ceiling track.

During the consultation, we discussed the client’s preferred level of privacy, light control, curtain appearance, and overall bedroom styling. Since the primary requirement was blackout performance, we focused on fabric options that could reduce incoming daylight while maintaining a soft, sophisticated appearance.

We presented fabric samples so the client could compare the available shades under the actual bedroom lighting. We selected grey because it provided the right balance between functionality and aesthetics. It was neutral enough to complement the existing interior without competing with the furniture or wall finishes.

We also demonstrated the difference between traditional pleats and an S-fold heading. The S-fold option created evenly spaced, flowing folds that would look consistent when the curtain was open or closed. Once the client approved the fabric and heading, we finalized the measurements.

The ceiling-mounted track was planned to sit behind the wooden pelmet, keeping it out of view. We carefully checked the track position to ensure the curtain would fall naturally from the pelmet and cover the required window area.

After confirming all measurements and specifications, we sent the final details for production. This site visit helped us avoid guesswork and ensured that the finished curtain would fit the bedroom properly.

Once the grey blackout curtain was completed, our team arranged delivery to Pearl Palace and carried the curtain and track components directly to the bedroom. Before starting the installation, we checked the finished curtain against the approved measurements and inspected the fabric and stitching.

We then prepared the concealed installation area inside the built-in wooden pelmet. We positioned the ceiling track carefully so the curtain would hang straight and maintain an even distance from the surrounding surfaces.

After securing the track, we installed the S-fold curtain and adjusted the fabric so the folds were evenly distributed across the full width. We paid particular attention to the leading and side edges because these details affect how neatly the curtain closes.

Once installation was complete, we opened and closed the curtain several times to check its movement and blackout coverage. We also made final adjustments to ensure the fabric dropped evenly from top to bottom.

We cleaned the installation area and left the bedroom ready for use.

The client was pleased with the final result, particularly the clean appearance created by the concealed track. They liked the grey blackout fabric because it provided the required privacy and light control without making the bedroom look too dark or formal.

The S-fold finish was also appreciated because the curtain maintained consistent, smooth folds across the window. The client specifically liked that the hardware was hidden inside the wooden pelmet, giving the entire installation a built-in appearance.
