Project Overview

Our team recently completed a 3-layer ivory blackout curtains installation at Dubai Marina in Al-Anbar Tower covering all three bedrooms of the same apartment. The client wanted a soft, elegant window treatment that could provide strong light control without making the bedrooms feel heavy or visually crowded.

We selected an ivory blackout curtain as the main layer and combined it with two complementary curtain layers to create depth and flexibility. The final arrangement gave each bedroom a clean, coordinated look while allowing the occupants to control daylight and privacy according to their needs.

Curtain Planning for All Three Bedrooms

Before preparing the custom curtains, we visited the apartment to inspect each bedroom and take precise window measurements. Although all three rooms belonged to the same apartment, we checked the window dimensions and available wall space individually rather than assuming one measurement would work for all.

We also considered the window position, surrounding walls, ceiling height, and available space for the curtain tracks. This helped us determine the appropriate curtain width, drop and stacking direction for each bedroom.

The client preferred an ivory color palette, so we kept the three layers within a soft, neutral scheme. Ivory worked particularly well with the bedroom interiors because it added warmth while keeping the overall appearance light and understated.

Three-Layer Curtain Configuration

The main feature of this project was the three-layer curtain arrangement. We used the layers to give the client more control, rather than relying on a single heavy curtain.

The ivory blackout curtain formed the primary privacy and light-control layer. Its dense construction reduced incoming daylight and created a more comfortable atmosphere in the bedrooms, particularly during the brighter hours of the day.

The other two layers were arranged around the blackout curtain to create a balanced layered appearance. When opened, the curtains framed the windows neatly. When closed, the layers could be used together to create a fuller and more private window treatment.

Keeping the colors coordinated across the three layers was important. Rather than introducing strong contrasts, we used subtle tonal differences and fabric textures so the finished treatment looked refined without becoming the dominant feature of the room.

Header Styles and Track Installation

For the curtain headers, we selected wave-style and pleated header detailing based on the available space and the desired finish in each bedroom. We planned the header construction with the track system so the curtains would form consistent folds from top to bottom.

The layered arrangement required careful track positioning. We installed the tracks with enough separation between the layers to allow each curtain to move independently without catching against the fabric behind it.

During installation, we checked each track’s alignment before hanging the curtains. We then fitted the panels, adjusted their positioning, and worked through the folds by hand to achieve an even appearance across the windows.

Installation Across the Three Bedrooms

We treated each bedroom separately during the installation rather than trying to complete all three rooms as one identical setup. After fixing the tracks, we hung the individual curtain layers and checked their drop against the floor.

We also adjusted the stacking of the curtains at the sides so that the fabric would sit neatly when opened. This was particularly important for the three-layer arrangement because uneven stacking can make a layered curtain setup look bulky.

Once all panels were in place, we opened and closed each layer several times to make sure the curtains moved smoothly along the tracks. We also checked the folds, bottom alignment, and overall symmetry from inside the rooms.

Final Result

The completed installation gave all three bedrooms a coordinated appearance while retaining the practical benefits of layered window treatments. The ivory blackout curtains added the required privacy and light control, while the additional layers gave the windows a softer and more finished appearance.

Because we handled the measuring, curtain planning and installation ourselves, we were able to make small adjustments during the fitting instead of relying solely on standard measurements. This helped us achieve a cleaner finish around each bedroom window.

The finished curtains brought together the three bedrooms with a consistent color palette and carefully arranged layers. The result was a comfortable, polished window treatment that suited the apartment’s Dubai Marina setting without overwhelming the existing interiors.
