Motorized Curtains Installation Project at Nad Al Sheba Apartment, Dubai

We completed motorized curtains installation project at Nad Al Sheba Apartment across two bedrooms and a home office, and finished the full installation in a single day. We completed the project on 24th September 2026. 

When we first spoke with this client, the request was simple to describe but important to get right. They wanted three rooms in their Nad Al Sheba apartment to go fully dark on demand. Two bedrooms for better sleep, and a home office where screen glare was making long workdays harder.

They also wanted to stop walking from window to window every morning and evening. Motorized blackout curtains solved both problems in one installation.

We never work from estimates. Before cutting a single meter of curtain fabric, our team visited the apartment and measured each window individually: the width, the drop, and the space above the frame for the track. Even in the same building, windows rarely match perfectly, and a few centimeters can decide whether light leaks around the edges.

We also checked where each motor would sit and where the nearest power point was, so the wiring would stay neat and hidden. In the home office, we noted that the desk faced the window, which told us how far the curtains needed to extend past the frame to stop side glare.

Blackout fabric was the clear choice for all three rooms. In the bedrooms, it blocks the strong morning sun that rises early in Dubai for much of the year. In the office, it gives the client full control of light during video calls and screen-heavy work.

The client chose a dark brown shade, and we agreed it suited the space well. Deep brown pairs naturally with warm wood furniture and neutral walls, creating a calm, grounded feel for both rest and focus. Darker tones also support the blackout effect, as they absorb stray light at the edges rather than reflecting it.

Each curtain was custom-made to the exact measurements we took, with extra width added so the panels overlap the window frame on both sides. This overlap is a small detail, but it is what separates a truly dark room from one with a bright outline around the glass.

On 24 September 2026, our installation team arrived with all three sets of curtains, tracks, and motors ready to fit. Because we measured and prepared everything in advance, there was no guesswork on site.

We worked room by room, starting with the bedrooms. For each window, we mounted the track, fixed the motor, connected it to power, and hung the curtain. We then ran each curtain open and closed several times to confirm it moved smoothly, stopped at the right points, and met fully at the center with no gaps.

The home office came last. Here we paid extra attention to the sides, making sure the curtain sat close enough to the wall to keep glare off the client’s screen at any time of day.

Throughout the day, we kept the work area covered and cleaned up as we went, so the client could use the rest of the apartment as normal. All three rooms were completed, tested, and handed over the same day.

Before leaving, we set up the controls and walked the client through using them. We showed them how to operate each room individually and how to set schedules, so the bedroom curtains close automatically at night and open in the morning. We only considered the job done once they were comfortable using the system on their own.

The apartment now has three rooms with full light control at the touch of a button. The bedrooms go dark whenever the client wants to rest, no matter how bright it is outside. The home office stays free of glare during working hours, making long days at the desk far more comfortable.

The dark brown fabric also gives all three rooms a warm, finished look that ties the apartment together. For our team, this project shows what careful preparation makes possible: three rooms, fully custom curtains, and a complete installation finished in a single day.
