In September 2026, the team at Floor Land completed Parquet Flooring Delivery and installation at Al Quoz, Dubai. We supplied, delivered, and installed new parquet in his dining area and bedroom, and we finished the entire job in just two days. Here is how we did it, step by step.

Project Overview
Client’s Vision
The client contacted us because his dining area and bedroom felt plain and cold. He wanted an elegant floor that felt warm underfoot and suited Dubai’s climate. He also lived in the apartment, so he needed us to work quickly and minimize disruption. We understood his goals and planned every step around them.
Site Assessment
Before we ordered any material, our team visited the apartment to measure both rooms and check the subfloor. We added a small allowance to the measurements to cover cutting and wastage. Next, we tested the concrete base with a moisture meter, because parquet reacts badly to damp floors. The reading stayed within the safe range. We then used a two-meter straight edge to check flatness and found a few high spots near the bedroom wall and one dip in the dining area. We noted these issues and planned to fix them on the first day.
Material Selection
We guided the client through wood types, finishes, and patterns. He chose engineered oak parquet in a herringbone pattern with a natural matte finish. We recommended engineered parquet because its real oak top layer sits on a stable multi-layer core. This build resists swelling, shrinking, and warping far better than solid wood, which matters in dry, air-conditioned Dubai homes. We kept the same pattern and tone in both rooms, so the spaces now flow together naturally.
Day 1: Delivery and Preparation
We delivered the parquet on the morning of 13th September. We had stored the boards in our climate-controlled warehouse, so they arrived already close to indoor conditions. Our team opened the packs inside the rooms and let the wood settle while we prepared the floor.
Next, we moved the furniture, covered nearby surfaces, and laid protective sheets along the walking path. We ground down the high spots with a dust-extracting grinder and filled the dip with self-leveling compound. Once the compound cured, we vacuumed the entire floor and applied a primer to seal the concrete and improve adhesive grip.
Finally, we marked a central reference line in each room. This line kept the herringbone pattern straight and balanced, and it helped the design flow neatly through the doorway between the two spaces.
Day 2: Installation and Finishing
We installed the parquet using the full glue-down method. This method gives herringbone a solid, quiet feel and holds every block firmly in place. We spread a flexible, solvent-free MS polymer adhesive with a notched trowel, working in small sections so it never dried out early.
Starting from the reference line, we pressed each block firmly into place and checked the alignment as we moved outward. We cut blocks neatly along the walls and undercut the door frames, so the parquet slid underneath them for a clean finish. We also left an 8 to 10 mm expansion gap around each room, which lets the wood move naturally with seasonal changes.
After that, we fitted a slim transition profile at the doorway and installed matching skirting boards to hide the expansion gap. We then inspected every section, removed adhesive marks, and cleaned both rooms thoroughly.
Handover and Care Advice
We walked the client through his new floor and shared simple tips to keep it looking its best:
- Keep foot traffic light for the first 24 hours.
- Wait 48 hours before returning heavy furniture.
- Add felt pads under chair and table legs.
- Clean with a soft brush or a damp, well-wrung mop.
- Avoid excess water, steam, and harsh cleaning chemicals.
The Final Result
In just two days, we transformed the dining area and bedroom into warm, refined spaces. The oak herringbone adds natural texture and a touch of luxury, while the matte finish keeps the look calm and modern. We stayed on schedule, kept his home clean, and caused minimal disruption to his daily routine. The client loved the result and appreciated how smoothly we ran the project from start to finish.
