Project Description

On 31st July, Floor Land received an order to install sheer and blackout curtains in the bedroom and living room. Installation of blackout curtains in the dining area was also included. The order was for an apartment in Yas Towers, Al Nahda, Dubai

Free Site Visit

Our crew of 3 curtain experts visited the location. We carefully analyzed each room to provide the best curtain advice. Our customers wanted formal-looking curtains for the bedroom and living room. Meanwhile, they also expected the drapes to offer privacy, light control, and improve the space’s aesthetics. Meanwhile, for the dining area window, his main concern was light control. After an hour of discussion, we reached this conclusion

For the living room: Full-length layered curtains with an eyelet header style

For the bedroom:  blackout and sheer curtains with tie-backs

For the dining area: short-length curtains just below the windowsill with a rod-pocket header.

As per the bedroom ambiance, we advised choosing royal blue for the blackout curtains and white for the sheer. Curtains in the living room were matched with the furniture and flooring (chocolate brown for the blackout curtains and beige for the sheer curtains). For the dining area, customers wanted two panels of blackout curtains in the coffee tan shade.

Window Measurement & Curtain Customization

Once the customer finalized the curtain styles and fabrics for each room, our team measured each window three times to ensure complete accuracy. We also provided free fabric samples on-site before order confirmation.

We calculated the total costs for delivery and installation and provided an instant quotation. Upon approval, we customized each set of drapes according to the exact measurements.

Curtain Installation

Our installer team reached the location with properly packed curtains. After reaching the location, they quickly unpacked the curtains and started installation:

  • We started by taking the window measurements and marking the points for the curtain brackets, making sure the rods would sit straight and at the right height.
  • In the living room, we fixed the curtain rods, wall brackets, screws, and wall plugs. We left enough space between the rods for both curtain layers.
  • The sheer and blackout curtains were then placed onto the rods through their eyelets.  We adjusted the drapes by hand so the folds sat evenly across the window.
  • We used the same setup for the bedroom, installing the sheer and blackout eyelet curtains and arranging both layers so they opened and closed smoothly.
  • For the bedroom, we added matching fabric tie-backs and wall-mounted tie-back holders to pull the blackout curtains neatly to the sides and give the window a more finished look.
  • Once everything was in place, we made the final adjustments to the rods, brackets, curtain folds, drop, and tie-back position so both installations looked neat and properly fitted.

After finalizing the installation in the bedroom and living room, we then installed the curtains in the dining area.

  • Measured the window and marked the fixing points for the curtain rod.
  • Installed the rod with wall brackets, screws, and wall plugs for secure support.
  • Hung both curtain panels through their rod-pocket headers.
  • Adjusted the gathers evenly across the two panels for a balanced look.
  • Set both panels to finish just below the windowsill, keeping the installation neat and proportionate.

Before leaving the space, our customer checked every drape, and he was really satisfied with the end results.

Final Results

  • 3 rooms were completed: living room, bedroom, and dining area.
  • The living room now has full-length layered curtains in chocolate brown and beige.
  • The bedroom has royal blue blackout and white sheer curtains with matching tie-backs.
  • The dining area features two coffee-tan blackout panels ending just below the windowsill.
  • All curtains were custom-made to the measured windows and fitted with matching rods and hardware.
  • The finished curtains give the apartment better light control, privacy, and a more coordinated look across all three spaces.
